Players will be selected and evaluated by 2-3 independent evaluators. Priority will be to Washington Park District residents based on if they pay Washington Park District taxes and/or will attend a Washington School. All are welcome to try out.  Parents must complete a liability waiver for the player at the tryout in order for the player to participate in the tryout. Questions: 309-444-9413

8U 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

10U 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

12U 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

14U 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

16U 4:00 PM -6:00 PM


Monday, July 23

10U 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

12U 5:00 PM -6:00 PM

14U 6:00 PM-7:00 PM

16U 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

2017 Softball important Dates

April 24, 25        In house Softball Draft - the date each league will draft will be determined. 

The in house league includes Pee Wee (Kindergarten) Pixie (1st and 2nd grade); Junior (3rd and 4th grade) and Intermediate (5th and 6th grade). Each team will play approximately 12; 2 games per week. Games and/or practices will be scheduled Monday through Sunday (after 1:00 PM). Important dates pertaining to the in house league include: (all dates are tentative and subject to change)


Dec 2, 2016 – March 24, 2017 – Registrations at Washington Park District or online at www.washingtonparkdistrict.com

April 25- approx date of In house softball draft (all leagues Pee Wee through Intermediate), Washington Park District 6 PM (During the draft coaches will pick their team; parent requests are limited to siblings)

May 1 – In house softball practice begins

May 20 – Uniform Distribution/Coaches only/WPD Recreational Facility 10 AM

May 30 - In house softball season begins; team and individual pictures dates vary

July 6 – Last day of in house softball regular season

July 10 –  July 14 or 15 depending on the number of teams in the respective leagues - In house post season softball tournament

July 16 – Pool Party


All WRA programs (Travel and in house baseball, basketball and softball) will participate in a program wide fundraiser in 2016. Each player will be asked to sell 5 - $5.00 raffle tickets. The tickets will be distributed with the uniforms. The player fee reflects an increase of $25 to cover the purchase price of the tickets. Families are encouraged to sell the tickets and recover the purchase price or keep the tickets and participate in the raffle. The funds raised will be used to maintain and upgrade the facilities, equipment and other expenses incurred by the leagues.
