Washington Recreation Association
2017 Recreation Baseball Leagues
Summer baseball registrations begin December 2, 2016 at the Washington Park District or online at
The Washington Recreation Association and the Washington Park District are working together to offer quality youth athletic leagues to the community. Recreation League baseball is for boys who would like to participate in organized summer ball. The leagues are run by volunteers. Games are played at Central Grade School, Lincoln Fields in Washington Park, Washington Middle School or Oliver Thomas Park. In the Mustang and Bronco Leagues other communities often join the Washington leagues. As a result, some of the Mustang and Bronco games could be played in a neighboring community, such as East Peoria, Eureka or Metamora.
In house baseball leagues includes:
Farm (1st & 2nd grade)
Mustang (3rd and 4th grade)
Bronco (5th & 6th grade)
Tap (7th & 8th grade)
All grade levels are grades completed as of May 2017.
Each team will play approximately 10 games, 2 games per week. Games/practices will be scheduled Monday thru Sunday (
Sunday if needed and after 1:00 PM). Important dates pertaining to the in house league can be found under the "Baseball Important Dates" tab.
Coaches are needed. Show your community support by coaching young athletes. If you are proficient in any sport or are willing to learn, donating three to five hours of your time each week is all that is needed. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Jean Escue (309)444-9413 ext. 104
Practices typically begin the first of May and games are scheduled to begin the week of May 31-no games on Memorial Day. Season will typically conclude by mid-July with a tournament. This timeline depends on weather. Please see Baseball Important Dates under the Baseball tab for a more specific timeline.
